The NRWA Best Business Practices course is a robust 6-week program designed to empower resume writers and other careers professionals with the knowledge, tools, and insight necessary to launch and grow their businesses. Fully aligned with the NRWA’s Code of Ethics, Best Business Practices provides participants with the tools, curriculum, and guidance to structure and scale their writing services for long-term success.
Results reported by previous participants include:
The curriculum covers the benefits of having a sound business plan, business operations, marketing strategies, and modern sales techniques to increase revenue and scale your business. Participants will develop and convey their unique value proposition, implement effective business processes, identify their ideal clients and learn how to sell to them! Topics include product development, sales cycle, sales scripting, and role-playing exercises.
Each 90-minute live session is led by Ellen Steverson, an NRWA member and business owner with deep insight and experience running her own business, as well as an unwavering commitment to helping other entrepreneurs succeed. In addition to a dynamic online learning environment featuring a balance of instruction and engaging role play, Ellen provides printable materials that participants can use to support their sales goals and grow their businesses.
For optimal learning, plan to spend an additional hour or two outside of class time each week to practice and implement what you’ve learned. Each session is recorded so you can go back to review the session as many times as you’d like for an additional 90 days after the course ends.
Upon completion of the program, attendees will receive the NRWA Best Business Practices badge to highlight their commitment to operating a long-lasting business that aligns with the ethical standards and practices of the NRWA. Display the badge proudly on your website, in your email signature blocks, and in other marketing materials.
