Serving on the NRWA Board of Directors is a great opportunity for your personal professional development while working with an extraordinary team of colleagues to help grow a visionary organization that supports resume writers across the nation.

HOW TO SUBMIT A NOMINATION

We invite you to nominate yourself or another NRWA member for a board position. Before you submit a nomination, please remember that all candidates must be members of the NRWA in good standing for at least one year prior to the election. In addition, candidates for Executive Board roles (President-Elect and Secretary) must have served in a board role (currently or in the past) for at least a year. Please confirm that the member is interested in serving before you nominate them.

Nominations must be submitted
no later than midnight, ET, on Friday, June 24.

We are accepting nominations for the following Board of Director Roles:

PRESIDENT-ELECT | ETHICS CHAIR (1-year term)

• Provide support for the President and chairs as requested.
• Assist with recruiting for incoming chairs and officers.
• Serve as Ethics Chair: handle grievances and work with third-party providers to eliminate fraudulent use of NRWA assets.
• Coordinate and monitor the annual election.
• Vote on issues directly affecting the direction of the NRWA, including significant financial and policy decisions.

SECRETARY (1-year term)

• Maintain the NRWA’s official documents.
• Compile and summarize reports for executive board meetings.
• Record and distribute minutes following board meetings.
• Prepare quarterly Board Bytes for the NRWA Watercooler newsletter.
• Maintain, update, and verify processes, policies, and historical knowledge for the NRWA.
• Vote on issues directly affecting the direction of the NRWA, including significant financial and policy decisions.

TREASURER (2-year term, plus 1 year as Immediate Past Treasurer)

• Monitor the NRWA’s financial matters*.
• Serve as financial liaison to the NRWA’s accountant, bookkeeper, and association management team.
• Review and submit financial reports to the executive board.
• Support the annual budget process.
• Oversee the membership database, income and payments, bank account reconciliation, and preparation of tax returns and audits.
• Vote on issues directly affecting the direction of the NRWA, including significant financial and policy decisions.

*Daily financial activities and all reports are prepared by the association’s administrative and finance staff.

DIRECTORS OF MEMBER SUPPORT (Six Directors - Each serve a one-year term)

Directors of Member Support (DOMS)* represent the general membership in the following segments:

• Experienced Business Owners (>5 years) (Eastern Region)
• Experienced Business Owners (>5 years) (Western Region)
• New Business Owners (<5 years) (Eastern Region)
• New Business Owners (<5 years) (Western Region)
• Military & Workforce Career Centers
• College Career Centers

DOMS advocate on behalf of members and vote on issues directly affecting the direction of the NRWA, including significant financial and policy decisions.

*DOMS receive all board benefits and must meet the same expectations as other board roles.
